Sentinel 7109's Steam Brake Cylinder

John Goold of J R Goold Vintage Steam Restorations Ltd in Camerton has taken on refurbishment of the steam brake cylinder, gauge glass valves, superheater, a blast nozzle repair, some fancy pipework and more.

A bit rough around the edges!
Rust pitting was too deep for the steam brake cylinder to be operable.

A new piston has been cast using the old one as a pattern; the cylinder can now be rebored to a larger diameter knowing that the piston can be made to fit.
